PREAMBLE

We, the members of Jai Prakash Janta Dal, inspired by the ideals of Loknayak Jai Prakash Narayan, solemnly resolve to uphold the values of democracy, justice, equality, secularism, and constitutional governance.

We commit ourselves to building a political system based on ethical leadership, people-centric governance, social harmony, and national unity, ensuring that power remains with the people and governance serves the nation.

ARTICLE I – NAME OF THE PARTY

The name of the political party shall be:

JAI PRAKASH JANTA DAL
(Hereinafter referred to as “the Party”)

ARTICLE II – SYMBOL

The Party shall adopt an official election symbol as approved and allotted by the Election Commission of India, in accordance with the Representation of the People Act and related rules.

ARTICLE III – OBJECTIVES

  1. The objectives of the Party shall be:
  2. To protect and strengthen India’s democratic system.
  3. To ensure clean, transparent, and corruption-free governance.
  4. To promote social justice, equality, and dignity for all citizens.
  5. To safeguard the Constitution of India and its fundamental values.
  6. To work for inclusive economic growth, innovation, and employment.
  7. To empower youth, women, farmers, workers, and marginalized communities.
  8. To maintain national unity, secularism, and social harmony.

ARTICLE IV – IDEOLOGY

The Party shall follow an ideology based on:

  • People-centric politics
  • Ethical leadership and accountability
  • Democratic participation
  • Social justice and equality
  • Innovation-led development
  • Non-violence, integrity, and public service

ARTICLE V – MEMBERSHIP

1. Eligibility

Any Indian citizen who:

  • Believes in the Party’s ideology and Constitution
  • Is not a member of any other political party
  • may become a member of the Party.

2. Rights of Members

  • To participate in party activities
  • To vote and contest in internal elections
  • To express views within party forums

3. Duties of Members

  • To uphold party discipline and ideology
  • To work for public welfare
  • To respect the Constitution of India

ARTICLE VI – ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE

The Party shall have the following structure:

  1. National Committee
  2. State Committees
  3. District Committees
  4. Block / City Committees
  5. Ward / Village Committees

Each unit shall function democratically and in coordination with higher bodies.

ARTICLE VII – OFFICE BEARERS

Key Office Bearers:

  • National President
  • State President
  • General Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • Other office bearers as required

Office bearers shall be appointed or elected as per party rules and shall be accountable to the Party.

ARTICLE VIII – PRESIDENT

The President shall:

  • Be the chief executive authority of the Party
  • Represent the Party officially
  • Ensure discipline, coordination, and implementation of party policies

Mr. Ankit Mehta is appointed as the State President of Gujarat, entrusted with strengthening the Party organization and expanding public participation.

ARTICLE IX – ELECTIONS WITHIN THE PARTY

  • Internal elections shall be conducted democratically
  • Transparency and fairness shall be ensured
  • Terms and procedures shall be prescribed by Party rules

ARTICLE X – DISCIPLINE

  • Members must adhere to party discipline
  • Anti-party activities may invite disciplinary action
  • A disciplinary committee may be constituted for inquiries

ARTICLE XI – FUNDS & FINANCE

  • Party funds shall be raised lawfully through membership fees, donations, and permitted sources
  • Accounts shall be maintained transparently
  • Audited financial statements shall be prepared annually

ARTICLE XII – AMENDMENTS

This Constitution may be amended by a resolution passed by the authorized Party body, in accordance with democratic procedures.

ARTICLE XIII – DISSOLUTION

In the event of dissolution, the Party’s assets shall be disposed of in accordance with applicable laws and the decision of the authorized body.

CONCLUSION

This Constitution shall come into force with immediate effect and shall guide the functioning of Jai Prakash Janta Dal in its mission to serve the people and strengthen democracy.
